Aarrhh Pirate Day!

Image
Last Wednesday, on a warm summer morning, Orongomai children walked the plank! (No we didn't. Just kidding). We walked down to the quarry for a pirate adventure! First we ate our morning tea. Pirates need food! Next, we went to fire cannons at our teachers. Luckily our cannons were actually foam noodles, otherwise our teachers might have been scared. After "Fire the Cannons", we sailed pirate ships that we had made, on the grand open sea (in a bucket). Soon we were attacked by pirates, but we attacked back! This was called "Pirate Attack". Our swords were foam noodles. Later we had a scrumptious, hearty pirate meal. We ate, and ate, until our pirate belts popped. Next, we jumped from island to island in "Island Hopping". Soon it was time for finding treasure. Our treasure was plastic shimmering gold coins. Finally, we read a pirate poem. Orongomai pirates staggered back to our school to become children once again… By T25 Recount Stars
