Tennis

We went with Miss Harney, Brian and Lionel. First we walked to Quarry View. Then we got a ball and a tennis racket and lined up. After that, we took the ball for a walk. Next we spun the racket on the ground. Then we lined up in groups.I was in Tom's group. Then we hit the ball. Then we picked up balls. My highest amount was four. I had so much fun! I learned to hold the racket with one hand. I learned how to spin their racket. By Monty.

Tennis with Lionel and Brian

Image
Last week we did tennis. Some very lovely men helped us to get very good. Their names are called Brian and Lionel. I will tell you some skills. We did flip the pancake which is bouncing the ball on both sides of the tennis racket. I will tell you a tennis trick. It is just bouncing the ball on top of the racket. The next trick is bounce the ball by the ground while touching the ground. Then we did spinning. After that we did hitting and catching. Then we were finished. It was so fun! By Kora

Pizza Maths Inquiry

Image
In Totara we have decided we want to have pizza for morning tea. We have split up into groups to solve a whole range of problems. We worked out the if each child got two slices we would need around 22 pizzas. We have a lot more problems to solve if we want to have pizza next week! This is the group that doesn't like pizza they are trying to work out an allergy friendly alternative that everyone will enjoy.  This is the division group who have decided they need to divide up the amount of pieces by children as well as the amount of toppings. These guys are working with percentages to see which toppings are the most popular here is what they have found out.. .
