 Halswell School Sports Day We had a great time on Friday morning doing the activities for the Halswell Sports Day. Everyone enjoyed dressing up in their house colours. It was great to see everyone participating and having fun!   

The children had lots of fun in Active today. Due to popular demand, the Pikelet Cafe was back again, with some very busy staff and plenty of happy customers. Marble runs and music were also popular themes. A good time was definitely had by all!

Mrs Maxwell's writing group have been loving their procedural writing this term. Together we have created a tutorial teaching others how to make porridge. This was inspired by one of our favourite stories: Goldilocks and the Three Bears.  We hope you enjoy watching! 

This Wednesday some amazing players from the Canterbury Dragons and the Canterbury Pride (Canterbury men’s and women’s football teams) came to run a football festival with some of our Active Ōrongomai students. They enjoyed learning some new skills and practising their teamwork.                    

This week we have been celebrating book week! We have been listening to stories from different teachers across the week, entering competitions, building our own cosy reading spots and of course today we have all dressed up as our favourite book characters!   Here is some more learning this week which has been happening during ACTIVE time. During this time we explored activities for Diwali, Halloween and our term focus of science.
